We strive to teach the whole child. Meaning we provide activities that develop not only the educational needs,

but also the emotional, social, and physical needs of each child. We believe that it is essential that children feel

good about themselves and what they learn.

Mission Statement

Mount Olympus Christian Child Development Center exists to provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate childcare with a Christian emphasis to all members of the community.

Our Philosophy

Children learn best by doing. Mount Olympus offers a wide variety of learning opportunities from quiet activities to active play. We provide children the opportunity to experiment and learn with a hands-on approach.

Infant Room

Provides a loving and secure environment for infants from six weeks to twelve months old. Child-to-caregiver ratios are kept low to provide the best care for each infant. Consistently meeting the needs of each child is our top priority. Our staff nurtures each infant, ensures clean diapers, encourages feeding and sleeping schedules, and maintains a clean, safe environment designed for busy babies.

Toddler Room

Provides a stimulating, loving, and secure environment where the children can develop a beginning sense of independence, social skills, and skills in working with learning materials. Our Toddler classroom includes space for free play and a classroom environment where singing and learning occur. Teachers model effective communication, sharing and encourage independence.

Two-year-old room

This room is arranged to facilitate individual, small group, and large group play. It is vital for children to feel good about themselves and confident in their abilities to learn. The children feel a sense of pride as they master new skills. We develop a weekly curriculum, enabling us to tailor it to the specific developmental needs of the class. Music and outdoor play are an integrated part of the program.

Preschool ( 3 and 4 year olds)

Our pre-kindergarten classes are full of excitement and exploration. We use hands-on curriculum that encourages children to learn and do through play. Our phonics program, Zoophonics helps children identify letters and their sounds by associating each letter with an animal. The daily curriculum will also encourage the development of recognizing patterns, number identification, science, and basic addition and subtraction. Art is creative, open-ended and gives the children the opportunity to explore different art techniques.  Children learn strong social-emotional skills by learning to share, take turns, communicate, and problem solve. Our Christian curriculum establishes an environment for children to grow and learn through Bible teachings. Morning prayer and mealtime prayer are also a part of our day.  As the children grow, we prepare them for transition into Kindergarten by building a strong foundation of the required skills to succeed. Music and outdoor play are an integrated part of the program. We provide a stimulating, loving, and secure environment in which the children can develop a beginning sense of independence, social skills, and skills in working with learning materials.

Private Kindergarten

We offer a full-day kindergarten program with only 12 students in the class. Children build a solid literacy foundation to become competent readers by using both phonics and whole language application. We teach appropriate handwriting skills through journaling, class books, and self-directed stories. Children learn concrete and abstract math concepts through hands-on activities and written activities. Opportunities to explore science, social studies and geography are given on a daily basis. Art is creative and self-expressive. Music and outdoor play are an integrated part of the program. Children learn strong social-emotional skills by learning to share, take turns, communicate, and problem solve.
